Circus & Performance
Because it's not really a festival if there's not someone on a uni-cycle, is it.
As well as 12 hours of live music, we play host to lots of other performers throughout the day. We tend not to give too much away on this front so just come along and prepare to be surprised.
We also run free circus workshops throughout the day, so you can try your hand at some circus skills too.
The Sickle Bar & Cotesbach Concoctions
We invite you for a drink at 'The Sickle Bar' where we will be serving local real ale from Church End Brewery, a range of ciders, lager & wine.
We will also be treating you to some Cotesbach Concoctions...a variety of cocktails inspired by the place and the season...homemade elderflower, tomato juice from the gardens, fresh mint & herbs, refreshing Cotesbach cucumber....let Cotesbach Gardens pimp your punch.
Please support our bars, which we rely on to make this event possible.
Delicious Foods

The Story...
Music in the Yard sprung out of appreciating a beautiful space around us, and having a young family and a love of live music, especially the kind people can join in with.
It was called 'Summer Drum & Fun' in the late 90s, because that's what it was and it made sense at the time. Not much more elaborate than an easy going family party with a few drinks, some memorable samba moments, carpets of sequins and scraps of torn paper in the grass.
As the party grew in size and spirit, musicians wanted a stage, guests wanted more beer and everyone needed more room for dancing. So we moved over to the Yard in 2003, which marks the real birth of Music in the Yard.
The barn doors were opened, a stage was made, musicians started piling in and an order was placed at the local brewery.
We soon found ourselves being recognised as a known local event, especially after 2007 when we and over 1500 revellers commemorated the quattrocentenery - 400 years since the enclosures riots in Cotesbach.
The sun always seems to shine for us, or is it that we choose to love the weather, whatever.
