live music featuring...
Music in the Yard sprung out of appreciating
a beautiful space around us, and having a young family and a love of
live music, especially the kind people can join in with.
We called it 'Summer Drum & Fun' in the late 90s, because that's what it was and it
made sense at the time. Not much more
elaborate than an easy going family party with a few drinks,
some memorable samba moments, carpets of
sequins and scraps of
in the grass.
As the party grew in size and
spirit, musicians wanted a stage, guests wanted more beer and
everyone needed more room for dancing. So we moved over to the Yard in 2003, which marks the real birth of Music in the Yard.
The barn doors were opened, a stage was made, musicians
started piling in and an order was placed
at the local brewery.
We soon found ourselves being recognised as a known local event, especially after 2007 when we and over
1500 revellers commemorated the
quattrocentenery - 400 years since
the enclosures riots in Cotesbach.
The sun alwasy seems to shine for us, or is it that we choose to love the weather,
tickets are £20 on the gate, or £15 online. Chilren of 13 and under go free.
tickets will be available in april - please see our tickets page for further information.
at the gate you will be asked either to buy a ticket, or to show your booking confirmation if you have bought tickets online.
we will have a fully stocked bar serving ales, ciders, lager, wine, pimms and cocktails and a variety of soft drinks.
our bar prices are fair so please support our bar and do not bring in your own drinks - we rely on bar sales to make this event viable, without which we will not be able to continue hosting it.
there will be plenty of food stalls to choose from, catering for most dietary requirements - details of food traders will be listed on the website prior to the event. please support these traders!
parking is free and located in the paddock near the yard. Stewards will be onsite to guide you in. please park sensibly and respect our neighbours - please do not park on the road side!
camping is free and included within your ticket price.
please see our camping page for further information and faqs.
disabled drop-off will be located at the front gate - if you require disabled parking please contact us in advance.
our site is all on one level, so once you're in the yard, wheelchair users should find the site easy to navigate. we have disabled loos on site as well as baby changing facilities.
well behaved friendly dogs are welcome in the yard, but please keep them on the lead at all times and make sure you clean up after them.
this is a cash only event - there are no cash points in the village!
